Oando Plc, the preferred value adding oil service provider in Sub-Saharan Africa is currently seeking experienced professionals to fill the following vacant positions:

Rig Manager

Overall Purpose of the Position: The position holder will be responsible for the management of rig assets in accordance with OES policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate Rig Performance on regular basis to discuss rig maintenance and equipment issues, as well as shared planning, goals and objectives to be communicated to the Rig Crews.
Maintain the asset in accordance with the Asset MRO and CAPEX plan and budget.
Responsible for maintaining and understanding all continuous assessments of the rig Condition
Prepare and submit multiyear plans based on the company maintenance system and Budget.
Ensure that the Maintenance Management System (MMS) is understood by those Concerned (as defined in the maintenance manual)
Ensure that an adequate level of inventory and consumables is maintained on the rig to meet day to day requirements and the emergency repair of safety and operations critical equipment
Prepare plans for major shutdown and out of service periods.
Active in the planning and coordination of major maintenance activities.
Coordinate Regulatory, Class and Flag state surveys to ensure that out of service time is State. Requirements related to Class/Flag manning certification will be the responsibility of the Rig Manager.
Maintain vessel certification (technical requirements) required by Regulatory, and Flag
Identify and communicate any economies of scale and lateral learning opportunities.
Ensure adequate resources are provided to match the requirements of scheduled I maintenance asset.
Approve the procurement of materials and services required for the maintenance of the rig
Ensure that the Company Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is followed
Ensure that maintenance measures (CMMS) are reviewed monthly and rig specific I Improvement plans are developed to address any maintenance issues.
Communicate improvement plans to Operations Manager.
Review, monitor, investigate, follow up and close out any ''Operational Event Report'' for the assets that impact the operation of the rig.
Schedule rig hardware audit and participate in PMAA audits and ensure that any identified corrective actions are carried out.
Liaise with third party vendors, subject matter experts and corporate asset management regarding technical equipment issues.
Review and monitor metrics associated with the Asset management process with the objective of continuous sustained improvement
Ensure that proper evaluation is conducted of the risks created by any delayed Maintenance. Ensure adequate corrective or mitigating action is carried out on overdue work.
Client Relationship Management
Provide technical information on equipment and rig specifications.
Provide technical information and proposed solutions of equipment issues.
Assists as needed in marketing existing equipment, new equipment and services to current and potential clients. Prepares budget, plans and details as needed
Agrees strategy with Operations Manager (OPM) on rig Performance to present to client.
Provide direct support to the OPM in situations involving significant equipment downtime or equipment / operational incidents
 
Education:
Formal technical or engineering training:

A university degree in Drilling or petroleum engineering degree, or engineering degree in other discipline.
Rig based drilling or maintenance experience in lieu of above, but inclusive of in-house maintenance and management training courses.
 
Experience:
10 years+ experience in the drilling industry with a minimum of 3 years spent in supervisory maintenance.

Special requirements:

Must have the ability to motivate and manage large numbers of personnel such as a project teams and rig crew. Familiarity with codes, regulations, flag state, classification societies, equipment maintenance and industry standards required for safe operation of Asset. Maintain a sound knowledge and understanding of OES operations and expectations.
Coach, mentor, direct, supervise, appraise, discipline, coordinate and manage asset personnel.
Ability to oversee budget plans in line with the company strategic and long term objectives. Clear understanding of the companies' financial deliverables.
Able to prioritize and manage daily situations related to operations, personnel, client and reporting.
