Nigerdock is organised into four main divisions, namely Projects, Offshore Fabrication including Pressure Vessels, Facilities department which is an internal service provider, and a Ship repair yard. In addition there is a dedicated Training Centre. Each of these four main divisions is a standalone unit headed by a General Manager, reporting to the Operations Director.

Nigerdock is an ISO 9001:2000 UKAS certified organisation; it is also one of a very few companies in West Africa with ASME U&R stamp certification for the fabrication of pressure vessels.

About the Role

The QA/QC Senior Welding Inspector is responsible for performing quality controls, inspection and surveillance activities on the Fabrication and Construction of two topside modules and associated piping (OFD3&OFD5), jacket legs, Piles, Riser connections, OFP1/OFP2 Bridge and associated appurtenance in line with approved Projects procedures; Clint referenced Specification and Government Codes.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Carry out quality control and inspections before, during and after Welding activities
  • Perform NDT request in line with Client reference specification and applicable procedures
  • Receipt and review of Inspection Test Plan, Manufacturing Procedure Specification, Quality Plan, Mill Certificate
  • Review and endorse all welding inspection reports wush as PWHT, NDT, Hyrdo Test, Dimension Reports…
  • Review Engineering/Fabrication drawings as well as Welding Procedure Specification, Ensuring that all fabrication activities are in conformance to approve procedure
  • Monitor WPQT & WQT in line with Client referenced Specification such asGHS-301/GS-PVV 611 and Governing Codes AWS D1.1 and ASME B 31.3 and applicable TOTAL Project Specifications
  • Intervene in quality issues regarding fabrication anomalies, raise Deviation request where applicable and ensure that all corrective measures are implemented
  • Identification and reporting of non-compliance and poor performance to Project QA/QC Manager
  • Provision of Quality Assurance input to Inspection & Test Plans / Quality Plans
  • Perform pre-painting and comprehensive reports to line supervisor
What we are looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA / HND in Engineering discipline
  • AWS – SCWI / TWI CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 and radioactive interpretation is required
  • NDT Level II (PCN – 3.1 – 3.2 – 3.9 TKY) is an advantage
  • Minimum Experience: 7 – 10 years of experience in Oil and Gas Construction industry
